Life Story

I grew up in Durban, South Africa and I have many happy memories of being at church. I was very close to my cousins and quite a few of us were in the same Sunday school with our mums teaching some of the classes. It was there that I was taught about Jesus and I believe I had a simple understanding of who he was and what he’d done on the cross. As I grew up, I wanted to live a good and moral life because that was what a Christian was meant to do. But as an older teen I came to realise that I had good morals but I didn’t have much of a relationship with Jesus and it was from then that I started to really get to know him and live in response to what he’d done for me on the cross.

I had a real desire to move to London after finishing my studies and I moved in 2008. In the Lord’s kindness I found a faithful bible teaching church in Wimbledon soon after arriving in London. The church was part of the Co-Mission church planting network. In hindsight I can see how much the Lord used my move to London and the years here to grow me in my knowledge, understanding and love for him.

In my 8 years in London I began teaching Sunday school, I completed the 2 year Co-Mission apprenticeship program whilst serving a small church plant and being more involved in children’s work. I joined CCE in 2014 as the children’s worker. At the same time I did the Cornhill training course to better equip me to handle and teach the bible faithfully in the work I do with the kids at CCE.

Prayer for CCE

My prayer for my CCE family, from the littlest to the biggest, is that we love Jesus the most and that we long to know him and be with him. As we read God’s word and are taught from it, I pray that our hearts are thrilled by Jesus and our lives are changed as we live as his followers.
